(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this tent. Giga represents itself as a company that caters to serious campers and hikers. Well if you dig further, they make quite a few kids play tents. They should stick to those. The first tent we got was coming apart at the floor to tent body seam. No big deal, seen this before. Sent it back to Campmor, they had a new one sent the next day. The next tent was fine until our third trip. First, we noticed that the tent body to floor seam was separating on this tent as well. This wasn't the big deal. During a rain storm, the fly leaked like a sieve. There is no excuse for a rain fly to leak. The 20 dollar walmart tents have flies that don't leak. Giga's do. These tents are made of very thin, cheap taffeta nylon. Other well known manufacturers, including whomever makes Ozark Trail (walmart) use ripstop. The other problem is that they use the same diameter poles for the long cross poles as they do for the short poles. So you have a half inch fiberglass pole spanning 12 feet as well as 27 feet. This is a major engineering oversight. The poles aren't thick enough to handle the stress. This has been mentioned here twice already. So, after the tent got heavy with rain, the two cross poles disintegrated. Not break, disintegrate. This is with the tent properly guyed out and supported. However, the following is the part that is inexcusable to me. After this happened, I called Giga to get their warranty service. Mary there is a gem. However, the owner Phillip actually accused me of lying and trying to cheat him. This is after he expected me to buy a new tent at pretty much full price. After pushing him, he agreed to send a new tent but in the process questioned my character. This is unacceptable. For this reason alone I would not recommend this or any Gigatent to anyone.
